Mercure, Leeds, Bespoke Fabrics

The hotel offers Standard, Superior and Privilege rooms which are all decorated to a high standard with style. The quirky interior takes inspiration from Leeds historical woollen cloth trade industry.

The brief

The designer on this project, Matthews Mee— created a brief which reflects the buildings history.  A tailoring theme was carried through from the public areas and into the  bedrooms.  Skopos were tasked with creating a headboard  to replicate a tailor’s suit pattern.

The Outcome

Skopos designers started out by drawing out a suit pattern in white to emulate tailoring chalk.  Attention to detail ensured an authentic looking pattern was created and a base of a herringbone wool-look cloth added to the design.  This was then printed onto the Skopos upholstery basecloth, Capa,  providing a waterproof,  antimicrobial, and soil resistant headboard which complies to all contract FR standards .

The end result added a perfect tailoring flourish to this historic brief.
