Northcote Manor

Background: A charming red-brick manor house, Northcote offers a luxurious escape in the scenic Ribble Valley.Originally built as a private residence, Northcote has been transformed into a haven of unparalleled hospitality. With a choice of unique bedrooms, the hotel provides a luxury retreat, with a Michelin-starred restaurant part of the appeal. New owners Claire and Alf Ellis (Silkstone Finance) were keen to give the hotel a new luxury-look befitting of its clientele.

Brief: Working directly with the owners, Skopos were asked to come up with new soft furnishing schemes for the beautiful bedrooms. Working with the space the owners wanted a memorable feel with a contemporary twist. The owners wanted the beds to feel luxurious and inviting and to be the focal point in the rooms and for the surrounding furniture to have a timeless and classic feel. Comfort and luxury was of paramount importance.

Outcome: For the bed-throw, the intended feeling of luxury came from the chosen design as a simple luxury quilted square with a neat framed border, produced double sided in the Skopos Dove velvet in the Peregrine grey/blue colourway. To work with this the Skopos design team created a vibrant and energetic Bespoke design known as Grande Zenith in a matching blue, neutral and rust to add a finishing touch as cushions on the bed. The cushions needed to have a strong eye-catching design. The Peregrine Dove velvet also carried across furniture as piping, including a chaise at the foot of the bed in soil and stain resist Esme (Limestone) with tones of blue which complimented the bed-throw, alongside Loco in Cotton colourway, from the Encanto collection. This combination carried onto the bedroom chairs. The detail in the curtains came from the selection of the trim and the hidden wave header displaying a stunning elegant drape. Produced in our Farne fabric in the Chalk colourway, the curtains were constructed with a fleece bump interliner for extra luxury and fitted on an 80mm electric track system. The elegant curtains were finished off with a classical braid leading edge.
