The George Pub, Great Portland Street

Part of JKS Restaurants, the George pub is a 3 storey Grade II listed building, situated on London’s Great Portland Street. The ground floor offers the traditional British pub experience, with 3 dining rooms on the 1st floor. All rooms offer original Victorian features with classic pub fayre.

Brief:

Interior Designers, North End, produced moodboards detailing their required furnishings and colour schemes.  Skopos scoured current fabric collections looking for qualities to match the brief, to fit in with the boards and complement The George’s traditional pub interior.

Outcome:

Sheer Roman blinds in Murmur Linen, from  Skopos Karoo collection, were chosen for the ground floor windows, to create a soft window coverage but still let in light. Curtains in Marmalade and Bottle Green colourways from the Dove matt velvet collection provided welcome colour against the dark tones of the traditional pub interior.

Beau Trevira Velvet was selected in the muted green Lichen colourway for the first floor Private Dining Room window.  The wool like texture of Farne with a hint of pink in the Blush colourway was used for the Dispensary curtain which compliment the dark pink walls and decor.

Falun herringbone design from the Trevira Northern Lights collection was selected for The Main Dining Room curtain.  The natural Oat colourway was inspired by the neutral wood panelling and exposed brickwork.

The curtains were made up by Skopos’ experienced team, to the detailed specification, and the Skopos specialist fitters completed the pole and curtain installation, for a full service solution.
